CWS Computing supports all Linux, BSD, and Unix distributions. We believe that the open-source distributions are ready for your desktop and everyday use. Particularly for business, the return on investment (ROI) and total lifetime cost of ownership (LCO) for these products makes them very attractive.

CWS Software offers Linux as a pre-install option on all of our custom branded and used computers- at cost. In other words, free. By using open-source software, you save $50-$300 dollars on the initial price of your computer, and you can enjoy the benefits of a stable and hassle-free operating environment. All of our pre-install options include initial configuration (often the hardest part of going to Linux) and WINE, which allows you to run many Windows programs inside Linux.

Linux can allow you to get useable performance out of even relatively ancient hardware. Any Pentium 3 or faster computer can reasonably run Linux with all the functions you need and expect- web browsing, media, email, and Office applications. If you have a large number of older computers that you don't know what to do with because they won't run Vista, give us a call. We can refurbish those systems into work terminals suitable for a many (if not all) types of employee functions, with the added benefit of increased security and reliability.
